So, the new internet connection system for Derby halls went active today it seems. What was old with the old one? The new network access controls make me nervous. Oh well. Also, I went down and purchased a book (Toast, Nigel Slater) and an ice cream. It seems I wasn't very good at resisting temptation today.
In Derby. Have been watching the Hairy Bikers and Living in the Sun. Also The 8th Doctor Adventures on BBC Radio 7. I've missed the first few episodes of the first series, but only three episodes. I've also forgotten how to spell '8th'. With Paul McGann and Sheridan Smith. I watched an episode yesterday called 'Phobos'. On one of the moons of Mars there were all of these extreme adventure enthusiasts and a creature that lived off a kind of enjoyable fear from another dimention. Unlike some other radio productions, it didn't seem like it was missing the 'action' as it were. It's good.
I know they only have shifts at night, but the security guard, without his refective jacket, came in to do a fire safety check, which only lasted a few minutes and spoke to me about my friend N who managed to befriend him as she struggled to get into the building. Was weird and slightly embarrasing, she talks a lot.
I went to two museums on saturday, the Industry museum in the Silk Mill and Pickfords House Museum of Geogian Life. I particulary liked the 1940's Air Raid Shelter in the bottom of the building complete with radio and music. I know that is not georgian but they had more recent exibits from when more modern people lived there.
It was fun! What am I going to do tomorrow?

Hey. So a lot of good things happened today. These include me feeling more cemented into my class with Jon and Jonathan, Jonathan actually was quite chatty today as he's normally quiet. Also, when I got home, I nearly ran into a flatmate as I was coming out of the kitchen and we both started with shock! So it's been a good day.
I have decided to do or attempt to do the 365 project where you take a photo for everday. I'm not sure I can remember what days I took these on, but still, here it is!
Thursday 5th February 2009
This is the view of the recently remodled Brittania Mill through a window in the door to a classroom (MS014) in the Markeaton Street building.
Friday 6th February
I encounted this swan as I came back from the Library. It is one of pair that resides on a pond and it can be quite aggressive, often coming towards people as it did here.
Saturday 7th February
This is the view from my kichen window. You can see the Markeaton Brook to the lower left and the walkway, with some buildings behind it.
Sunday 8th February
I caught the snow and the pub on camera from my front window.
Monday 9th February
This is a more less known part of Markeaton Park as I went walking on Monday.
Tuesday 10th February
This is a river that flows though a Park that I believe it to be on Slack Lane, but I do not know. It still had snow and there is other things in the park such as a goal and a basketball hoop.
Wednesday 11th February
This is a large blue 'T' that has resided in the corridor of the Markeaton Street building for ages now. It has a peice of paper on it that says 'Do not touch' which someone has ripped it off to say ' Do touch'. No-one knows quite what it is.
Thursday 12th February
This is a packet of crisps that I recently demolished. They're 2 for £2 at the moment. Yum!
